Welcome to the Mozambique Embassy in Stockholm!


Our Consular and Visa Service is basically dedicated to attend citizens from the Nordic countries and Mozambicans living in the region.


The aim is to facilitate the tourism and to promote businesses and investments in Mozambique.

All applicants are required to explain in detail the purpose of the visit. Non Nordic citizens have to attach a copy of the residence permit. The processing time for a normal visa is approximately one week.


The Embassy during the processing of a visa may request guarantees, such as means of survival, travel insurance and others. These documents should be presented only when requested.


The Mozambique Visa is granted for different categories such as tourism, business, visit and official purposes. The maximum staying period is 30 days from the date of entry in Mozambique.

The basic entry visa to Mozambique is a single visa, valid for 60 days from the date of issue. In terms of number of journeys you can apply for a Single Entry Visa valid for 60 days and Multiple Entry Visa for 90 days, all starting from the date of issue.


For all categories and types of a short stay visa, the maxim length (duration) of stay in Mozambique is 30 days, counted from the entry day. After this period the visitor has to leave the country. The exception is applicable for the holders of the single entry visa.


The single entry visa can be extended two times at the Migration Service.


Short stay visas are issued for the purpose of less than three months visit to Mozambique. A short stay visa does not allow you to work in Mozambique. Employment is not permitted during any of the short staying visas.


A foreign citizen intending to stay longer than three months in Mozambique has to apply for a long stay visa, such as work, residence and investment activities. To study in Mozambique you have to apply for a student visa.


The visa fees issued by the Embassy of Mozambique in Stockholm are paid in Swedish Kronor. The fees to process the visa are not refundable.

Please note that the Visa OnLine is not available and an application visa by e-mail or fax is not acceptable.


The entry/exit borders mentioned in the application form are referred only to the Mozambican borders.



SHORT STAY VISA

Short stay visas are issued for the purpose of less than three months visit to Mozambique. A short stay visa does not allow you to work in Mozambique.

General Requirements


Passport

Valid Passport, which must be valid for at least six months, counted from the entry day in Mozambique.


Passport size photos

Two recent passport size photos for applicants visiting Mozambique for the first time and one for those who have visited Mozambique during the past two years.

Fill application form in Portuguese or English (black or blue). Abbreviations and acronyms are not allowed.

Other requirements deemed necessary in the visa issuance process.

Tourist

a. A Copy of a return ticket or flight schedule printout or
b. Hotel booking.

Business

a. An invitation letter from an institution, business partner in Mozambique or
b. A letter from the applicant’s company requesting a visa.


Private Visit

a. A letter or invitation from the host, confirming lodging and financial guarantee.
b. The visa applicant shall provide a letter of invitation/confirmation from a company, organization or individual wherein the purpose of the visit is stated.
c. In the case of a family visit, specify the relationship with the applicant.
d. If the purpose is to visit a friend, the invitation letter should state how long the host and the applicant have known each other.
e. Invitation letter must be certified by the Mozambican Notary Services.


Transit

a. Visa of the country’s destination.
b. The length of stay in Mozambique should not be more than 7 days.


Diplomatic

a. Note Verbal issued by the respective Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Embassy, Embassies, Consulates (Only for Diplomatic)


Official

a. Note Verbal issued by the respective Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Embassy, High Commission, Consulate or International Organization. (Only for Service Passport and Laissez Passer)


Courtesy

a. An invitation letter from a Mozambican authority.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS


Work Visa

• Employment agreement/ contract
• Attestation or work permit issued by the competent authorities, if he is employed as an employee;
• Permission to work if the applicant exercises a liberal profession;
• Documentary evidence that entitles him/her to practice the profession for which he is authorized;
• Authorization of the Minister who oversees the area of religious affairs and term of responsibility of the organization to which he belongs, if the applicant intends to develop an activity within a religious


Organization:

• Self-government of the Minister who oversees the area of cooperation, in the case of workers coming from the country under the cooperation agreements;

• Medical certificate;

• Proof of guarantee of accommodation conditions in Mozambique;

• Guarantee for possible repatriation of the foreign citizen, as well as his / her household, translated into monetary value corresponding to the price of the return ticket to the country of origin deposited to the order of the Migration Services.


Resident Visa

• A certificate of Criminal Record duly stamped by the respective Ministry for Foreign Affairs (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden). The validity of this certificate is 90 days, counting from the date it was issued.
• Legalisation of the Criminal Record at the Mozambique Embassy.
• A letter from an employer, assuring that the applicant has been granted a job, therefore requesting the Embassy to issue a resident visa.
• A copy of the work contract.
• A letter from the Mozambican Labour authorities (INEEP), granting a work permit.


Dependents

• The resident visa can be granted to the spouse and/or children of the applicant or other recognised dependent, as long as they are mentioned in the letter referred from the interested company or institution.

• A certificate of criminal record is needed for dependents older than 17 years.


Student visa

• A letter of acceptance issued by the concerned Mozambican institution (School or University) certified by the Ministry responsible for Education or Higher Education.
• Medical Certificate Record (of the applicant).
• Guarantee of accommodation in Mozambique.
• Letter of acceptance from the educational institution.
• Commitment to return to the country of origin at the end of the course.
• Letter from the employer, dealing with the student worker.
• Other requirements deemed necessary in the visa issuance process.


Investment Activities Visa

• Granted to the foreign investor, representative or attorney of the investing company.
• Used within 60 days after the granted date.
• It allows its holder multiple entries and a stay of up to two years, extendable by equal periods.
• Applicant involved in the implementation of investment projects in Mozambique.
