Her Excellency Maria Manuela dos Santos Lucas, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Mozambique, during the 22nd Informal Meeting of African and Nordic Foreign Ministers in Victoria Falls, Republic of Zimbabwe.

Her Excellency Maria de Fátima Simão Manso, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and for Mozambican Communities Abroad, will attend the 23rd Informal Consultations between African and Nordic Foreign Ministers, to be held in Oslo, Kingdom of Norway, on 19–20 November 2026.

The meeting provides a platform for political dialogue and coordination on matters of common interest, aiming to deepen ties of friendship and cooperation between African countries and the five Nordic countries — Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden.

An Africa–Nordic Business Forum will also be held alongside the ministerial meeting, bringing together government representatives, business leaders and international financial institutions to explore opportunities for trade, investment and economic cooperation. The programme includes panel discussions, presentations and thematic roundtables, as well as opportunities for bilateral contacts and small-group meetings.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the Secretary of State is expected to hold bilateral talks with other participating delegations to review cooperation and identify new partnership opportunities in areas of mutual interest.

After the ministerial meeting, the Secretary of State will meet with the Mozambican community in Norway on Saturday, November 21. The gathering will also be open to Mozambicans living in the other Nordic countries. Held on the margins of the main event, the gathering will provide an opportunity to strengthen dialogue between the Government and the diaspora, hear their concerns and contributions, and encourage their involvement in Mozambique’s development.
