Welcome to the official page of the Embassy of the Republic of Mozambique in the Kingdom of Sweden.

We believe that this platform will be an important instrument of communication and rapprochement, providing relevant information about Mozambique and disseminating the activities carried out by the Embassy, as well as the services provided by its various areas of operation. Based in Stockholm, this Diplomatic Mission is also accredited to the Kingdom of Denmark, the Republic of Finland, Iceland and the Kingdom of Norway.

Willing to strengthen the relationships with the Nordics Countries, Mozambique opened in 1988 its Embassy in Stockholm covering Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland and Norway.

Our relationship with the Nordic Countries dates from the period of the Struggle of the Mozambican people for Independence. Since 1975, When Mozambique become independent we are enjoying friendly relations of cooperation and friendship with the Nordic Countries.

Our mission is to strengthen those relations for the benefit of our respective peoples as well as to assist the Mozambican nationals residing or visiting the region.

Do I need a visa as a Swedish citizen?

As of 1 May 2023, Nordic citizens (Sweden/Denmark/Norway/Finland)
do not need a visa to enter Mozambique, for tourism, business, or visit.

If I am exempt of a visa, is there anything else I need to travel to Mozambique?

You will need to present a valid passport for at least six months (6 months after departing from Mozambique)
Copy of hotel Reservation, and a
Copy of the travel tickets.
You must pay the entry fee at the airport (around 10Euros).

I am exempt of a visa, but I do not have an hotel reservation, because I will be staying at a friend's house, what can I do?

If you do not have an hotel reservation, you must present an invitation letter from your family member/friend, stating their name and relationship with you.
This letter must be stamped by a Notarius Publicus in Mozambique.
You must present a copy of the Mozambican ID (BI) or Mozambican passport of the person who invited you.
